Ireland’s 1st Virtual Health and Wellbeing Festival

Our virtual festival brought together some of Ireland’s leading health and wellbeing experts. The line-up included Karl Henry (celebrity fitness expert) David Coleman (clinical psychologist and parenting expert), Anna Geary (motivational speaker and sports star) as well as a number of laya healthcare health and wellness experts.  

Aisling Larkin 

Aisling Larkin (M.Sc., B.Ed., MB-EAT) is one of Ireland’s leading food broadcasters and mindful eating coach.

Aisling employs theories of self-belief, meditation, nutrition, mindfulness and behavioural economics in her approach to changing mind-sets and relationships with food. 

Aisling is a believer in Eating Mindfully which is a real solution to creating a nourishing, joyful and sustainable relationship with food through mindful-based practice.

Anna Geary

Anna Geary is a Performance and Lifestyle Coach, and a TV/Radio Broadcaster. She is a qualified Personal Trainer and has years of experience playing top level sport as a former All-Ireland winning Camogie Captain with Cork.  

She presents ‘Pumped Up Kicks’ with Declan Pierce on Today FM on Saturdays from 2pm-6pm. She is also a winning coach on RTE’s popular show Ireland’s Fittest Family.

David Bergin

David’s background is rooted with a BSc in Public Health & Health Promotion. Currently working as a HPO for Spectrum.Life in partnership with laya healthcare in Microsoft Ireland and Citibank, David is passionate about empowering employees to reach their health and wellbeing potential. Particular topics of interest are the necessity of movement throughout the day and incorporating coping mechanisms for life’s daily stressors. In his personal life David lives by a “practice what you preach” approach, enjoying an ever-active lifestyle, usually on one of his bikes and also spending time with family and friends.

David Coleman

David Coleman is a practicing Clinical Psychologist who specialises in working with children, teenagers and their families. He is best known for the range of television programmes he has presented dealing with childhood struggles and teenage angst including ‘Families in Trouble’, ‘21st Century Child’, ‘Teens in the Wild’ and ‘Families in the Wild’. 

He is a regular contributor to the ‘Sean O'Rourke Show’ on RTÉ Radio 1 and writes a weekly column for the ‘Irish Independent’. 

He has also written three books to date, ‘Parenting is Child’s Play’, ‘Parenting is Child’s Play: The Teenage Years and The Thriving Family’.

Dermot Whelan

Dermot Whelan is an award-winning Radio and TV Broadcaster, Comedian and Public Speaker. 

Dermot presents the hugely popular ‘Dermot and Dave Show’ on Today FM and has appeared on television shows and stages across the globe. He has picked up 9 IMRO Radio Awards, a National Meteor Award and a gong at the New York Festival Awards for the World’s Best Radio Show. 

Gary Brown

Former Leinster Rugby player, manages laya healthcare's client Health Promotion Officer and Gym Teams.

Jody Kennedy

Jody is extremely passionate about health and fitness. His diverse skill-set includes strength and conditioning, Olympic weightlifting, Military, CrossFit and various natural movement protocols.

Karl Henry

Host of the Real Health Podcast, Karl Henry is one of Ireland's most recognised leading personal trainers and a self-professed fitness fanatic. 

Karl kick-started his personal training company by training clients in their homes in 2004 and is now well known for his role as the leading health and fitness Expert on RTÉ One’s Operation Transformation. 

Karl is a leading voice within the media landscape in Ireland highlighting how healthy eating and proper training is the key to getting amazing results.

Rowena Hennigen

Rowena is a remotely-based Lecturer, Speaker, Education Specialist and Project Consultant. She started working remotely in 2007. Since 2016, she is 100% remote, based in Spain working for clients internationally.

Tom O'Donnell

Tom has been working with primary pupils and secondary students for over ten years. With a background in professional dance and a career as the host of some of Ireland's best-loved educational programmes and awards shows, Tom has an ability to capture the hearts and imaginations of Ireland's youth.
