Full Lipid Profile and Diabetes Screening

Along with being overweight or obese, diabetes and/or high cholesterol will put you at greater risk for cardiovascular disease such as heart attack or stroke. Diabetes also has a negative effect on several other systems within the human body that impact quality of life and the ability to perform daily tasks including causing damage to the heart, brain, circulation, eyes, kidneys and nerves.

The diabetes screen is carried out to measure glucose levels over the past 120 days and the full lipid profile includes TC, HDL, LDL and TG, and more comprehensive breakdown than total cholesterol alone.

The test includes the following:

1.  Health and lifestyle questionnaire

2.  Physical tests:

  • Body mass index
  • Waist circumference
  • Blood pressure monitoring
  • Cholesterol (full lipid profile)
  • Diabetes (HbA1c)

Tests: The full lipid profile and HbA1c tests are performed by taking a finger prick of your blood. The World Health Organisation (WHO) recognises HbA1c as an effective test in diagnosing diabetes. The full lipid profile includes TC, HDL, LDL and TG and more comprehensive breakdown than total cholesterol alone. We use validated high end point of care systems to carry out both the diabetes and cholesterol tests.

Employee report: Results received electronically within 10 working days.

Corporate report: We will provide your company with an anonymous report with the findings of the screening. This will summarise in simple detail the overall health status of your company and enable you to focus your efforts on company-wide initiatives to improve those areas that matter. This will include the number of people with high blood pressure, body mass index and high waist circumference. It will also demonstrate the number of people with elevated cholesterol and HbA1c levels.

It is delivered by a qualified medical professional.

Minimum number of 15 and maximum of 27 participants a day.
