Access specialist female health consultations.
Women's health concerns don't always fit neatly into a standard GP appointment. That's why GP Live offers access to Specialist Female Health Consultations, connecting eligible members with doctors who hold a Diploma in Women's Health or have a recognised special interest in women's health. These clinicians have extensive experience supporting women across a wide range of health concerns.
Our specialists can support with:
- Heavy, painful, irregular or absent periods
- Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) and PMDD
- Endometriosis
- Fertility concerns
- Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)
- Vaginal and vulval health concerns
- Hormonal contraception advice

Alongside Specialist Female Health Consultations, eligible members can also access dedicated Menopause and Dermatology services.
Women experiencing perimenopause or menopause can benefit from specialist support and personalised treatment plans, while members with skin, hair or scalp concerns can access expert dermatology advice without lengthy waits for specialist referrals.
GP Live also offers a more personalised consultation experience, with the option to choose a male or female GP where available and consultations available in English, Portuguese and Spanish.

GP Live at a glance
GP Live is an online video consultation service which allows you to speak face to face with a GP through your phone, tablet, laptop or desktop 7 days a week. Laya healthcare members get unlimited access to GP Live, at no additional cost. Fair usage applies.
GP Live is available to eligible laya healthcare members as part of their health insurance cover. Appointments can often be booked quickly, helping members access medical support when they need it most.
The service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, giving members access to medical advice and treatment anytime, from anywhere in Ireland.
Whether you're at home, at work or travelling within Ireland, GP Live provides convenient access to healthcare without the need for unnecessary clinic visits for many common conditions.
GP Live can help with a wide range of everyday health concerns, including:
- Cold and flu symptoms
- Sore throats and ear infections
- Coughs and chest infections
- Allergies and hay fever
- Skin conditions and rashes
- Eye and minor infections
- Stomach and digestive issues
- Headaches and migraines
- Joint and muscle pain
- Women's health concerns
- Children's health concerns
- Ongoing condition management and medication reviews
During a consultation, GPs may:
- Provide medical advice and treatment recommendations
- Issue private prescriptions where clinically appropriate
- Arrange referrals to specialists
- Provide sick certificates
- Recommend further testing or investigations
- Advise on next steps for ongoing care
Eligible members can book a GP Live consultation online through the laya member area or member app.
Once an appointment is confirmed, you'll receive details on how to join your secure video consultation. Appointments can be attended using a smartphone, tablet or computer with internet access. Prescriptions, referrals and follow-up recommendations are provided electronically where appropriate.
GP Live is available to eligible members covered for the service under their laya healthcare plan.
Adults can book appointments for themselves, while parents and guardians can arrange consultations for children covered on their policy. Children must be present during the consultation so the GP can assess symptoms and provide appropriate medical advice.
The service is particularly useful for members looking for fast access to medical guidance for non-emergency health concerns, ongoing healthcare support and everyday family health needs.
