Thrive health and wellness

Laya healthcare currently runs 1,600 health and wellbeing programmes for hundreds of companies throughout Ireland empowering individuals to perform the best they can at work and home, both mentally and physically.

Almost half of people say that their mental wellbeing is of ‘real concern’ to them, according to our recent research* into mental health in Ireland.

We worked with GSK to create a comprehensive mental health focused wellbeing programme for their team, including intensive mental health training for management, recommendations and resources for team members in need, and the formation of two Mental Health First Responders employee resource groups to champion the programme. Our Thrive in Mind programme can be tailored to your needs and offers deep insights into the mental health and wellbeing of your team. It also offers support in addressing any issues that your team may be experiencing.

Three quarters (75%) of people surveyed believe a stigma still exists around those suffering with anxiety, with only 28% of people feeling comfortable with the idea of work colleagues knowing they had taken leave for mental health reasons. Counselling Psychologist Dr Sarah O'Neill analysed our recent research and offered key insights into the effects of stress in the workplace, as well as practical tips for managing it in the video below.

Each programme is designed based on data collected through confidential assessment tools. These tools deliver deep insights into employees' physical and mental health which, combined with other general health data, enable the development of bespoke health and wellbeing programmes specific to a company's unique needs and circumstances.

Let's Talk Mental Health in the Workplace

On October 16th, we welcomed 130 HR leaders from across 84 companies to Let's Talk Mental Health in the Workplace. This event was designed to strip away the stigma associated with mental health issues at work and open a discussion. Nine expert speakers, including Karl Henry and Dr Sarah O'Neill, discussed a number of areas of employee wellbeing, as well as the tools required to implement or improve a mental health strategy in the workplace.
